Stahl Park
By Jessica Nichols
President of Stahl Parks and Recreation
Having lived here in Sykesville for most of my life, some of my fondest memories are at Stahl Park. As a child (and after checking in with mom) this is where I would meet up with friends and classmates after school to play. The bike racks would be full and the park was alive with all kinds of activity. Stahl Park has something for everyone.
During the summer, you’ll most likely see a baseball game in action on the left side of the park, a basketball or softball game on the right side, and all kinds of activity in between, where the majority of the equipment is located. For dozens of families, Stahl Park has been the location for their family reunions for nearly two decades.
Though our community is small, the love for our park is pretty big. And because of this, Stahl Park has grown through the years, due to numerous volunteers, local businesses, organizations, and Keystone Fund grants.
As the current President of Stahl Parks and Recreation, as well as a citizen of Sykesville, I’d like to thank all those before me for a job well done. Because of their efforts, sweat, and hard work, our park is, by far, one of the nicest parks in our area.
